I’ve read several sights claiming this to be the world’s tallest Indian. The Skowhegan Indian stands at a height of 62 feet. Made of wood, he stands watch over the town. Created by sculptor Bernard Langlais.

During our winter Maine vacation we passed through Wilton on the way to visit Maine’s only Muffler Man in Rumford. The Dutch treat sat quietly atop the hill along the way.

Good food, friendly atmosphere. After passing it many times we finally stopped in for dinner in July of 2008. The owner was friendly and chatty, giving us a rundown of the fare for the evening. We’ll definitely stop in again.
