So sad to see the video about the Empire’s closing. The people of that town need a place like this …. and how cool is it that a property that was reclaimed for a movie set became a practical part of the local economy (if only briefly).
I did a Richard Russo book & movie location mini-tour a few years ago; but I didn’t make it to Skowhegan.

We pass through town there each year while visiting family in Maine. Sadly, I never went inside to eat. Another piece of Americana fades away…
